Presenters: Ryan Tucker, Audit Partner, Purvis, Gray and Company, LLP
Overview: The Big Bend Chapter of the FGFOA will hold our annual meeting to approve a new Board for the 2024-25 fiscal year. In addition, Ryan Tucker will present an overview of upcoming GASB pronouncements, including GASB Statement Nos. 100-Accounting Changes and Error Corrections, 101-Compensated Absences, 102-Certain Risk Disclosures, and certain portions of 99-Omnibus related to derivative financial instruments within the scope of GASB 53, as well as key takeaways from the recent implementations of GASB 87 (Leases) and 96 (SBITAs). Additionally, he will discuss GASB projects currently in process, including projects related to the financial reporting model, revenue and expense recognition, going concern, infrastructure and nonfinancial assets, and subsequent events.
